There comes a point where spreadsheets stop being enough and no subscription software does quite what you need. From there you have two roads: adapt the way you work to the program you found, or build a program around the way you work. The second costs more up front, and it's worth it when the process is your competitive advantage rather than a detail.

When nothing off the shelf does what you need, you build it. Not a website: a program that follows your process instead of forcing you to change it.
