Jazz record label

Red Records

Bringing a historic Italian jazz label back online and opening a sales channel: an editorial website, a store for LPs and CDs, SEO and Google campaigns.

What the client wanted

  • Rebuild the website from scratch, with an editorial feel worthy of the catalogue.
  • Open a sales channel for the records and vinyl in the catalogue.
  • Refresh the label’s image across its online channels.
  • Get found by people searching for jazz and vinyl, not just by the label’s name.
  • Make the site available in Italian and English.

What wasn’t working

The previous site had navigation problems, many broken links and did not adapt to mobile devices. Visibility on Google was low, a handful of institutional pages, and there was no way to sell the records at all.

What I did

  • Website rebuilt from scratch with an editorial feel: muted colours against the label’s black and red, to echo print.
  • A store for the catalogue’s LPs and CDs, browsable and payable by bank transfer, PayPal and card.
  • An Archive section for the back catalogue, and an account area for buyers.
  • Artist pages with the key albums playable on the site, through the Spotify player.
  • A bilingual site, Italian and English, down to the emails the customer receives during and after a purchase.
  • SEO built around genre and catalogue searches, not just the label’s name.
  • Google campaigns to put the records in front of the people looking for them.

How it changed

  1. The previous site: a handful of institutional pages, links that ended in errors, and no way to buy a record.

Simone supported us 100% in the implementation of the site for our record company, understanding every aspect of the development. He managed to accommodate the different requests even from a graphic point of view, always proposing the best solution for us. Thank you!
