What you hand to the OTAs every year

Move the sliders or type in your own numbers. The figures update as you type and stay on your computer: nothing is saved, nothing is sent to anyone, and you don’t have to leave an email address to see the result.

What you hand to the OTAs in a year

€67,759

That is €5,647 a month, the takings from 565 nights sold at your average rate.

If you move bookings to your direct channel…

  • 10% of those bookings+€6,776
  • 20% of those bookings+€13,552
  • 30% of those bookings+€20,328

Recovered every year, not just once.

The starting figures are a realistic example: put your own in and the total updates as you type. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent.

How to read the result

The big number is the commission you pay in a year on the bookings that come through the booking sites. It is not an estimate of your turnover: it is only the share that stays with them.

The three lines underneath answer the question that actually matters: if some of those guests booked directly with you, how much of that money you would keep. It is not a one-off saving; it comes back every year.

Moving 100% to direct is not the aim, and it would not even be a good idea: the booking sites bring you guests who would never have found you at all. The aim is that they stop being your only channel.
